About Wat Yansangwararam (Wat Yan)
Wat Yansangwararam, widely known as Wat Yan, is a royal Buddhist temple complex set in landscaped grounds about 20 km south of central Pattaya, near Huay Yai. Spread across a large site, it is one of the most peaceful and impressive religious places in the wider Pattaya area.
What sets the complex apart is its mix of architectural styles: buildings in Thai, Chinese and Indian traditions sit together around a central lake and gardens, alongside a replica of the Buddha's footprint and several shrines. The scale and calm make it feel a world away from the city's busier temples.
Entry is free and the grounds are open through the day. Because Wat Yan is an active royal temple, visitors are asked to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering shrine buildings. Comfortable shoes help, as there is a fair amount of walking between the different areas.
