Good to know

Getting around the bay

The blue songthaews (baht-buses) are how locals move. They loop a fixed route along Beach Road and Second Road for a flat 10–20 baht - just hop on, then press the buzzer to get off. Don't tell the driver a destination first or it becomes a private "taxi" charter at many times the price. To reach Jomtien or Naklua you usually change buses, or take a scooter for door-to-door.
