About Big Buddha Hill (Wat Phra Yai)
Big Buddha Hill, home to the temple of Wat Phra Yai, sits on Pratumnak Hill between central Pattaya and Jomtien. Its centrepiece is an 18-metre seated golden Buddha that looks out over the bay, making it one of the city's most popular religious and sightseeing stops.
Around the main statue are a small pagoda, a row of smaller Buddha images and a naga staircase, all reached by a short climb. Because it is an active place of worship as well as a viewpoint, visitors are asked to dress modestly and keep noise down near the shrines.
Entry is free and the site is open from early morning until late. Early morning is the calmest time, while late afternoon and sunset give the best light and the widest 360° views over Pattaya and its coastline.

- Modest dress required (shoulders & knees covered)
