The Stones House

The Stones House is a two-floor live music bar at the entrance to Walking Street, and one of the best places on the street to catch a proper live band. The set-up is smart and grown-up: a stage and main bar on the ground floor, with a balcony terrace upstairs that looks out over the action.

The music is the draw — quality classic rock and pop, with a mix of English and Thai covers fronted by a female vocalist. The band usually starts around 19:00–20:00, and the room builds through the evening, getting busiest after 21:00.

There's no cover charge, though drinks cost a little more than at the small beer bars nearby — a fair trade for the live entertainment. It tends to draw Western visitors and a slightly older crowd, roughly the thirties-to-fifties bracket, who want good live music in a comfortable setting right where Walking Street begins.
